It’s good to vent and just get it out. I’ve been on this stuff since I can remember. I don’t really remember how I was before these pills. But I would have never started to come off them if I didn’t believe in the body’s ability to heal. You aren’t damaged. You aren’t broken. People drink liters of liquor every day for 20 years and recover and have normal lives. For some reason this stuff effects a part of the brain that takes a long time to heal. I was in a bad place earlier today and I watched the comedy channel for 4 hours straight. I LMAO the whole time out loud. The neighbors probably think I’m nuts. But it got me through the day and that’s all that matters. Don’t make plans for things you know in your heart just aren’t true. For the first 6 months I didn’t tell anybody either. I wanted to just tough it out and deflect all the questions. Finally, I told my family. I expected them to think I had lost my mind. The truth is they understood. The reason they understood is because 1 in 5 people have taken these things. Everybody knows one person who has dealt with them. It’s not your fault Trig. These pills are just bad news.

Depression in withdrawal may become protracted (see section on protracted symptoms) and if it does not lift within a few weeks and is unresponsive to simple reassurance and encouragement, it is worth seeking a medical opinion and possibly taking an antidepressant drug (see section on adjuvant medication). Depression in withdrawal responds to antidepressant drugs in the same way as depressive disorders where benzodiazepines are not involved. If, as in many cases, an antidepressant drug is already being taken along with the benzodiazepine, it is important to continue the antidepressant until after benzodiazepine withdrawal is complete. Withdrawal from the antidepressant can be considered separately at a later stage (See Chapter II, Schedule 13).
Maybe people should only give advice regarding Benzos. It is after all a Benzo site.
