Fatigue after eating
« on: January 31, 2016, 02:03:21 pm »

[Buddie]

I saw a post about this but it was dated more than a couple of years ago so I decided to post a new one.

This past week I’ve noticed that I suddenly feel exhausted and weak right after I have my dinner. I can barely drag myself to bed I feel so tired and groggy. It does eases up in a couple of hours and it’s not so bad during the day. Anyone else experience this? Anything that might help?

Could it be what you are eating or does it happen no matter what you eat? It could be your body working hard to digest. I notice symptoms with eating as well…..sometimes I feel more revved up and feel a strange tremor or vibration through my body.

Eating and digestion are a huge tax on the body. Many people, including myself, report an increase in all kinds of symptoms due to eating. All part of the deal. I try to avoid putting stuff in my stomach as much as I can, cause it really revs me up .

Erectile issues
« on: January 26, 2016, 12:44:07 am »

[Buddie]

I’m about 4 months off and having these issues all of a sudden. It’s not full on ED but more so the erections are not very hard. Also just any sensation down there feels kind of numb. Desensitized I’d say. I had fuller and harder erections in the immediate acute part of my withdrawal. Anyway to help this. Or just keep pushing through?

[Buddie]

I had this all the time i was on diazepam, both ED and genatil anaesthesia, as well as non existant libido and anorgasmia (pleasureless orgasms). It seems to be improving slowly and at 7 months off i started noticing stronger improvements. Strangely enough lorazepam (i was on lorazepam for 4 years before switching to diazepam) didn’t seem to cause these problems, just the diazepam. Hows your libido? Also were you on antidepressants, because they can cause the problems you mentioned, even a long time after you come off them.

Re: Erectile issues
« Reply #2 on: January 26, 2016, 01:44:35 am »

[Buddie]

Never on antidepressants. My libido is pretty good. It’s just the symptom I mentioned. It feels like the blood flow isn’t going well down there. The blood rushes to my head instead. Already have a ton of tension and “fullness” in my head that gets worse with an erection.

I had soft erections and anorgasmia as well but this symptom recently disappeared at around 3 1/2 months. i would say to just give it some time. It will rise again .

I’m four months clean off benzos as well. I have some mild ED issues but it is enough to make me do something about it. Granted I’m well into my 40s and many off my friends of the same age have the same ED issues but never had a benzo or drug issue.

After talking with my doc at length about the full scope of my medical issues I decided to take the ED med Cialis. I’m as anti medicine as anyone (Hope this poor slob isn’t banned for admitting he takes Cialis. – Editor) but there are just certain aspects of my life I am not willing to compromise on at this time. And it is not just my life I am looking out for here.

Give it time and if it comes back that is great. If not your doctor will know what to do given your medical history. There was no shame for me in asking for help. Sexual function is a big part of human existence and closely tied to one’s self esteem. I can only speak for myself but I am dealing with enough other withdrawal issues for this one to be an ongoing problem.

Hang tough. Thanks for raising a good question.

Are you sure its to do with the benzos? Did you have this symptom when you were on benzos?

Re: Erectile issues
« Reply #6 on: January 26, 2016, 02:52:05 pm »

[Buddie]

I did have a bit of a problem on benzos and then more of a problem during withdrawal. I will just say that the problem has fully cleared up for me. I would also say that I have read that erectile issues are a known issue with benzo use and withdrawal. Here are some links:

NIH study on benzos and ED issues: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1590497

Other Benzo buddies with issues: http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Sexual+Perversions

General Review ( check out Drug Induced ED section ): http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1112680/

If you had not had ED issues before benzo use or withdrawal, I would say that your issue is likely related to the benzos. I f you are truly concerned, you can always see a doctor but I would bet that it is the benzos. Good Luck

UNBELIEVABLE!! This being uncovered in 1988………..freaking 28 yrs ago!! What a pompous arrogant prick that chairman of Wyeth was. Typical

This just solidifies my suspicions and hatred of Ativan. Watching the vid brought back VERY vivid reminders of the horrible acute stage my wife went through after being directly crossed over to V from Ativan………….pure and absolute HELL!!!!

Thank you […] for this

Unbelievable… infiuriating … depressing… this was made in 1988, so it was already known how dangerous and addictive Ativan was then, and here we are in 2016 and doctors are still prescribing it and people are still getting addicted to it. Big pharma wins, and we all lose.

Watching this I wanted to be on that golf course – I’d shove that a**hole executive’s golf club up his f***ing a**.

Sorry about the language, but that scene made me so angry..

There is no justice when it comes to these very harmful drugs. Really sad, such a travesty.

Unbelievable…but then again, it is all about money isn’t it.

It was far more important at the time, that he finish his golf game, then get right quick to cocktail hour in his mansion, than to honestly address the issues of hurting people, taking his toxic drug!

There really are no words for how sick it all is.  A few months back, there was no way I could have even watched this, because I was Ava. I cried just watching this old vid, because I knew that pain, I knew that anxiety and fear that made you feel you would lose your mind at any moment. It’s a flat out miracle that I got off that shit and survived that CT, just like many of you have and your all amazing!
That wd was inhumane and I thank God everyday for pulling me thru that terror. I am ashamed that mankind is willing to put money above human lives…its horrific.

Unbelievable to me that I am a year free now. Its like the first year is survival and realizing as you come out of it more and more, you survived, didn’t die and your brain and body are going to be ok once again. The second year, then becomes rebuilding your life. I’m still coping with, what THE HELL was that I just endured for the last year!

I had the opportunity today to share my story with some very close business associates and they all were either crying, or in total shock over such things going on. I feel somehow, someway, I will do what I can and when I can, to spread the news of this poison.

Ativan=Hell

Thank you or sharing this video, it validated me and also made me very angry and wanting to continue making a difference somehow with the knowledge I now have after this experience. My life will surely never be the same.

I feel that you’re right, […]. There’s more and more talk about putting limits on sugary foods, more interest in the environment and climate change, more avenues for change in terms of health and well-being overall. The fact that just recently the NFL has finally, finally gotten a clue about concussions is good news (and the NFL has been in existence since the 1920s!). No more cigarette ads on TV. One day soon I hope to see drug commercials banned as well.

Remember this video was made in 1988 before anyone knew how to properly get off benzos. Dr Ashton’s groundbreaking work came later. Watching this video made me appreciate the incredible value of Ashton’s brilliant and wonderful work. We now know about tapering. In 1988 they had no clue.

I agree about user signatures. They can really freak me out too. I stay away from the horror stories and stick with threads like Accentuate the positive. Also, when I started my taper 7 weeks ago I literally sat on my couch all day on benzo buddies. I now go on twice a day for fifteen minutes and get on with my life. We have no choice in what we are going through but we do have a choice in how we deal with it.

Thank goodness the signature lines are in small print. Many are way too lengthy and to me your entire history and tapering schedule from day one doesn’t belong there. I wish folks would modify their signatures. I just try to ignore these unless I have some reason to want to know a person’s back story.

Sorry to everyone for asking so much about this topic, but it’s driving me crazy and I can’t seem to get help from anyone about it. My doctors keep jerking me around. I’ve had cramping, spasms, soreness, and stiffness in my legs for over 2 weeks now. The right calf is bad enough that it hurts to walk and I can barely extend it all the way. I don’t know what to do to improve this. Should I rest it as much as possible? keep it extended to try to relieve the stiffness and hopefully that will improve the right leg? I’m clueless and nothing I try helps. Hot baths, heating pads, ibuprofen, aleve, tried homeopathic stuff for leg cramps, no luck. I’ve been feeling so sick that I havent been walking much as it is, mostly sitting, so I have no idea if that makes it worse or what but I’m at a loss for what to do.
