Six-foot-six kook claims to look eight months pregnant from a benzo withdrawal symptom that doesn’t exist

Benzo Belly Relief?
« on: August 31, 2020, 08:44:27 pm »

[Buddie]

Hi People.

Apologies if this question has been raised before, but one of my worst symptoms 20 months since finishing my taper is benzo bellly.
I’m a tall man at 6 feet 6 inches and always used to be a string bean.
At the moment I look like like a string bean who’s 8.5 months pregnant with twins!
I have read that the only thing that really helps benzo belly is time, but has anyone found anything that really helps to relieve the symptoms?
My poor stomach has never been so ill and is completely solid as if I have a bowling ball in my tummy.
I also have a lot of trouble breathing due to the size of my stomach to the point where I’m gasping for air and start to panic a bit.
Any updated thoughts on how to combat this dreadful benzo belly symptom would be very very welcome.

Thank you! X

DAY 80 CT "BENZO BELLY" NEED REASSURANCE?
« on: April 20, 2020, 12:31:56 pm »

[Buddie]

Hi Everyone

Day 80 C/T from 15mg of Diazepam.

I need to get this out there it’s the most bothersome symptom at present, The only way to describe this is the right upper abdomen feels swollen under the ribs i was thinking possibly my liver 🙈 freaking out big time because of it, i get aches and pains roundabout where i feel it’s swollen and it radiates sometimes to the side and back, my gas smells awful (sorry) and i also have this tightness around the upper back also, I’ll get the occasional itchiness also n that has me almost in panic attack! Because I can’t tell if it’s inflammation or simply wd and benzo belly!

Explosive diarrhea 5 days ago, then pale stools, now it’s back to normal 🤦

Can someone pls share their experiences and does this sound like WD/benzo belly???

Thank you.

Jelly legs worse than benzo belly?

Alright, this is not just jelly legs
« on: July 26, 2019, 09:22:11 pm »

[Buddie]

So I am between 2-3 months out of C/t rapid detox (had some overlap of drugs they gave in hospital)
As awful as it gets with a host of symptoms, but my most profound physical symptoms is beyond jelly legs.
My legs started out where I couldn’t lift them or walk at all, and they began contracting nonstop, the clenthcing was very large and you could totally see it happening….they did this for 6 weeks straight without EVER stopping even if I slept, which most of time I didn’t. They then started calming down a bit and have settled into a constant movement of muscles and twitching (both surface and deep)
They have still never stopped. When I walk (can walk from room to room and stand in shower) they just start getting worse.
So here I am, cannot walk on them to make them stronger and they cannot ever rest to heal. Because even when resting them….they are moving. It is an unbelievable, impossible situation.
Anyone relate?
Btw…I am a mom and was a competitive athlete until the last 10 months of all these meds. Not being active is hindering my recovery, and we all know that these drugs have destroyed life as we know it. But not being able to use my legs…is stopping me from everything

How Long can the Benzo Flu Last? Years?
« on: April 13, 2019, 02:56:16 pm »

[Buddie]

Hi everyone. I jumped two months ago from diazepam after a long withdrawal taper while in tolerance. I have had every symptom possible. The two symptoms that have never let up while in tolerance or through the taper and after jumping are benzo-flu symptoms and muscle pain throughout my abdominal region which an ultrasound showed nothing.

I’ve been mostly house bound for 3 years fighting this. The benzo-flu use to be 3-4 days a week but since jumping it is 24/7 with no breaks. Nothing helps this and my head feels like it will explode. Just achy, hot, nauseous and anxious. I just want to know that there is an end to this and that I am not the only one.

Has anyone else struggled this long with benzo-flu symptoms? I haven’t read of anyone having it like this. It seems they may have it for a few days one month here and there. This is constant for me. Anyone?

[…], so sorry for you too. How long has this been going on for you? It is really taking a toll on me.

[Buddie]

NO your not the only one. I had it on and off during all of my long taper, just continually getting worse and more frequent
until it was 24/7 at about 3 months after jumping. It’s very discouraging & scary when it just keeps getting worse even after stopping the drug.
But after 3 months it reversed and very gradually started getting better until that particular group of symptoms is all but gone now.
My mind is just completely boggled at what I’ve been through and how sick I’ve been the past couple years.
So hopefully yours will start getting better now real soon. At 2 months your very early.

[…], thank you so much for replying and I hate that you went through that. I am just crying now out of some relief. I really was thinking that I was alone. Like you, it was bad before but since jumping it never lets up. I’ve suffered through this for 3 years. It is unbelievable the torture. I hope your health just continually gets better by leaps and bounds.

All comments welcome on this monster most of us know as benso belly. Will it ever leave? Bloating, burning, gas, nausea and pain. What did I forget? Two months to go on this taper if all goes well. Will this monster leave or what?

My experience. I CT’d and months later I was great for about 4 months then BAM, stomach pain, bad. Personally I think this time Im going to do a ton of probiotics, stay away from other drugs, less stress and more interaction with people and better non GMO diet. I did suffer from upper GI years before and I am a light smoker so that may have been my issue too. When I had this after the Benzos nothing seemed to help except,…benzos. Good for about 6 months after I reinstated. I was that bad that I did it again like an idiot but I had no insurance and was doubled over ALL day pacing back and forth by myself for weeks. Another hell. Tests showed nothing and I could not afford a scope. Best of luck to you and I hope you find better answers than from me.

What is "benzo belly"?
« on: March 29, 2018, 03:25:18 pm »

[Buddie]

HI,

I’m bloated and having lots of discomfort in my abdomen. It is another very concerning symptom.

It hurts a little to press against my gut in the area of where my belt would be. Yesterday, I had a very stressful moment, and I think it triggered this overnight.

Is this normal? Is this what is called benzo belly?

Benzo belly can be caused by lots of things.
Muscle spasms in the gut, inflammation of the stomach lining & bowels, hiatal hernia.

That’s in addition to overall sensitivities that can be caused by hormones run amok, a virus that impacts the gut or just plain old indigestion.

If you continue to have stomach pain, especially if you haven’t yet had your appendix removed, I’d book an appointment with a gastro just to make sure. The gastro’s I’ve met have all been fairly supportive, and fairly benzo wise.
