BENZO BRAIN

Scared, heavy feeling in brain
« on: May 29, 2017, 06:58:34 pm »

[Buddie]

I’m really, really scared right now. I feel like my brain is shutting down, as well as the rest of my body. Breathing is slow, my eyes feel very heavy, it’s like my whole face has fallen. I am so weak and every time I lie down, I immediately go to “sleep” but it’s not really sleep…it feels like I’m getting ready to go into a coma. This feels really bad and really serious and I feel almost mentally retarded. All I can do is lie in bed and stare out the window. Also, my speech has become very, very slow. I’m forcing myself to eat now. I’m so weak, it’s hard to type. What is happening to me? I feel like I will NOT recover from whatever this is.

Omg thought I was the only one experiencing these things! I don’t know why this is happening but it is very scary! I’m hopeful that this will pass soon because it is benzo withdrawl for sure. Hang in there! :'( :smitten:

Hang in there you two.

[…] it will pass, if you’re really scared go to the hospital. Know they will probably find nothing. So sorry wish I had some words for you two. Try to think of it as your brain healing even if it doesn’t feel like it, its just heading into scary healing territory.

Hi […], if you feel really bad you might want to go to the ER just to be sure. I never had your symptoms personally.

[…], how are you feeling now? Did you go to the ER or waiting it out?

I waited it out and wasn’t feeling much better… I have a pulmonology appointment today, so maybe they can help out.

I feel pretty sure something is more seriously wrong.

I’m seriously on the verge of reinstating…to which I’m assuming I’ll have disastrous results.  :'(

Oh nooo!  I hope it’s nothing serious. Hopefully it’s just symptoms of benzo withdrawl. I know mine are, and they are similar to yours. I know this withdrawl is awful but if It were me, I would not reinstate, I would hold until this passes. You are sooo close to being done! That’s exciting! I hope your appointment goes well and that it’s nothing more than withdrawl!

The thing that people need to understand is that when they sit across from a psychiatrist or psychologist, they are looking at another human being who is very fallible, largely uninformed, and just trying to make a living. Just like the rest of us. The very last thing we should do is put this person on some sort of pedestal. This is dangerous. View this person as an equal, just like you, just trying to make it in this world. Don’t let the trappings of his or her office, or the piece of paper on the wall, or the calm, all-knowing demeanor fool you. These are just props on the stage, an act. They are as confused as you are. Maybe more. And when they reach for the pen and the prescription paper, know that they are GUESSING. That’s all they can really do.

Xanax no longer fun for addict

Feeling like such a failure...

:(

Tonight my husband took me out to a local historical attraction. It was a pleasant evening. The weather had cooled off and I knew that walking would be good for me. I had asked him to take me out this evening for some air. Plus I was excited to be able to face what anxiety I’ve been having and work through it. Prove to myself I was safe. I had been feeling a bit jumpy and anxious all day but yesterday when we went out,  I had quickly dealt with it and felt really decent.

Tonight all of a sudden the panic hit me hard. I told him as we were walking up the steps to the memorial I felt anxious. My breathing was funny and my heart of course was pounding.  :-\ We sat for a while and I calmed down. We talked about it and took some pictures and even though I was anxious I was working through it. Off and on the anxiety just kept hitting me. As soon as I calmed down it was back.

Then we stopped to get sandwiches for dinner and while I waited in the car I started feeling awful. My head was hurting,  my neck hurting…I swear to God I started feeling “withdrawal” symptoms but I know it was just my anxiety.  >:(

I thought I couldn’t take it anymore. I wanted to jump out of my skin! My pulse was normal but I just felt like my while body was vibrating with flight or fight you know?

I had .5mg of a Xanax in  my pocket that I carry around FOREVER but I never take it. Like a safety thing. I know, stupid. I broke down and said screw it. I was so angry and just to wanted to feel better for once since starting this weaning…so I let it start dissolving (not a oral tab btw ) on my tongue. I could feel the saliva building up and taste it on my tongue, the xanax, and then I opened the door to the car and spit it out!  I was so ashamed for being weak ya’ll.  :-[ How could I do this????????

I worry I sat myself back and I just feel like a big loser because I couldn’t handle the freaking anxiety and I wondered why I thought I could ever do this.

I am only coming up on three weeks and I read all of you doing so well and I’m like WHAT A FAILURE!!!

Thanks for listening.

Dried, wrinkled hands???
« on: May 16, 2017, 01:17:03 am »

[Buddie]

A new symptom has popped up for me now 7.5 months out from CT of Prozac – dry, hands that are wrinkled and numb to touch. I feel barely any sensitivity in them. Is this even normal? I’m really starting to question WD…I am having sxs that not many have or have had for a long time. Really concerned here…

I have that, too, more in my right than my left hand. I find that leaning on my elbows when I use the computer. or even just using the computer makes it worse. Also try not to sleep on your hands or arms. I know I do that, but that’s how I sleep. As long as I’m awake I try to keep off of them, though.

hey, i think sometimes its easier to relate to people when you actually chit chat on the phone. if anyone needs to talk, feel free to give me a call, i think it would therapeutic, i went to an anxiety meeting and found it to help me so much when i could talk to someone about my issues. its hard to find someone who understands. i know my wife doesn’t understand nor my family. so i welcome anyone, 305-305-2923. I’m not a weirdo, lol, google me if you’d like, jase haber.

It’s against BB rules to give out personal information such as your name and phone number and to solicit phone calls. I did Google you and what I found was ***NOT*** very complementary at all.

I would strongly caution all members! For your own safety, do not attempt to contact this person!

First and foremost I had no idea this was against the rules, I don’t see anything so wrong with putting out my phone number as long as it’s in the attempt to communicate with people and help each other out. I happened to have had a great conversation with somebody that could relate to me. I apologize for offending so many of you. When this is a form this design to help each other. Sometimes it’s very difficult for me and I’m sure for others to wait for somebody to respond to a reply when they’re at that particular moment going to pure panic. Didn’t see it at such a big deal, I have no issues of anyone knowing who I am since I can be publicly looked at the Google, and I’m actually considered a public figure. I’m not by any means ashamed of what I’m going through and have no issues helping other people that are in the same situation as I am. But again I apologize if I’ve violated the rules and any which way. But once again, I’m giving out my phone number not anyone else’s. My personal information no one else’s, it’s up to that person whether they need somebody to talk to them or not. I was really under the impression this was a form to help each other out, and I’m actually glad I put my phone number because I got to meet someone that was very cool and we happen to have a lot in common and are going to similar situations, as well as I’ve met somebody prior to that who has help me through this whole process. But I will make sure not to post it again since it’s obviously against the rules.

Hello again,

Thanks for getting back to us and agreeing to follow the rules, but I want to make a few things perfectly clear, especially since we know you’ve published a book about your career as a professional con man:

You agreed to abide by the rules when you joined, as we all did. We have these rules to protect all of our members, and it doesn’t matter who you are or what you think about our rules – you still have to abide by them. This is a private club, not a democracy, and we reserve the right to terminate anyone’s membership if they are deemed in any way dangerous to others on the forum. We take these responsibilities very seriously. This is what appears over every pm sent or received:

Unfortunately, like the wider Internet, BenzoBuddies is not immune from those who would seek to misrepresent themselves as counsellors, doctors, confidants, etc. We have suffered our fair share of those whose only motivation in life is the desire to hurt others. It would be fair to describe one or two of these people as unhinged and a menace. Please do not share your contact information and personal details through the PM (Personal Message) system or the open forum.

The book I published is nothing more than a book, I highly doubt you read it to even know anything about me. Don’t go by a title with out even knowing the full story. Judging me without even reading the book. I’m sure you also saw the influencing people I know in Hollywood. Don’t go by a cover, read before judging. My book was based on helping people, I dealt with millions of dollars, believe me my intentions are harmless in this forum. Just wanted to help someone in need. Pretty sure no one here is perfect

That book was based on my mistakes. Mistakes I made when I was in my twenties, I’m now in my thirties and have managed to succeed the right way! Do your research, don’t just look at a book I published. Just saying, people shouldn’t be judging in this forum

I’ve already told you that I did my research. You want me to publish more links here? Of your recent “successes”?

“Mistake”. That’s one of my favorite words   . A mistake is when one takes a left turn whilst meaning to take a right turn, oops. A mistake is NOT something that you DELIBERATELY CHOOSE, time and time and time again. Pre-meditated “mistakes”?

Whatever.

Hi all,

[…] is a new member, and whatever failings occurred in his past, he was not hiding them from members since he has posted his real name. He now seems to now understand that because of the potential problem of people seeking to misrepresent themselves at support forums such as BB (to abuse/fleece/trick members), we do not allow personal contact information to be posted here. […] is here for support with his withdrawal from benzodiazepines – members should not judge each other. Unless he does something to prove otherwise, […] should be given the benefit of any doubt, just as we do with all members. After all, we generally do not know the true identity of other members, and all are unvetted.

Thank you.

Hey […] .. here’s one to bring a smile to your face.. sad thing is it is all true ! This is even better than the smiling at yourself in the mirror each morning to see if you had had a stroke..!
Anyhow last night I woke up in the night and got up to go to the bathroom and noticed blood on the pillowcase… not a lot but enough to be scary on a white pillowcase , right where my mouth had been … could feel the fear just rush through me.. what on earth .. my mouth felt kind of sore , could it be a new type of stroke?? I had a small paper cut just at the side of my mouth that is taking a long time to heal.. I figure in the light of day I must have scratched it and it has bled a little.. added to that ,reflux and you have a messy pillowslip.. oh no , could I be that logical in the middle of the night ?? Not on your life.. I was bleeding internally , I was bleeding from an artery in my nose somewhere.. oh my goodness… funny now as I tell it but you can bet it wasn’t funny in the night … the sight of blood always scares the daylights out of me…. health anxiety in the extreme ….xx

Knott’s Berry Farm had a ride called Fear VR: 5150

Fear VR: 5150 will be largely themed to a mysterious medical facility. Guests receive timed tickets, and upon their entry will be greeted by ominous nurses at the Meadowbrook Institute, guests become the latest patients inside the mysterious facility. Once checked-in, the new patients are warned of a dangerous, telekinetic female inmate known as “Katie,” who has just gone missing. Strapped to a specialized wheelchair, patients’ embark on a terrifying tour of the institute.

Regarding the experience itself, eight people at a time are loaded into 4D-effects seats disguised as wheelchairs. Once seated, they are provided with Samsung Gear VR headsets, headphones and a panic button. A safety message will be displayed while each guest’s hands are strapped down to the wheelchair, before beginning their four minutes of terror.

Parkgoers are strapped into chairs, given VR goggles and told to press the “panic button” if the experience becomes overwhelming.

“The journey into terror begins as you’re greeted by so-called medical professionals from some place called Meadowbrook Hospital,” he wrote. “Just go with the flow and sit right down in the wheelchair, and strap on the VR goggles and earphones, basically blocking out any sign of the outside world. A nurse adds arm straps, so you can’t remove the VR equipment on your own. Seconds later comes the horrifying realization that you’re absolutely at the mercy of the hospital staff.

“You are, however, given a ‘panic button’ to push in case the experience is too much. But that doesn’t exactly bring down the anxiety level, does it? For with a panic button comes the understanding that, well, you might need to use it.”

There’s one moment where you feel yourself getting an injection, which is something I imagine has never happened before in a 4D experience”.

Fear VR: 5150

Fear VR: 5150 controversy

For Halloween Haunt in 2016, Knott’s Berry Farm introduced Fear VR: 5150, a virtual reality attraction that was met with controversy from the mental health community regarding the negative portrayal of mental illness.[45] The ten-minute-long attraction immersed guests inside of a chaotic mental hospital haunted by a supernatural central character named Katie and zombie-like patients.[46] The initial controversy came from the attraction’s name, with 5150 referring to the California law that allows a law enforcement officer or clinician to involuntarily commit a person suspected of having a mental illness and determined “a danger to themselves or others”. The backlash was focused on Cedar Fair’s use of painful experiences suffered by those dealing with mental illness and to have it “transmogrified into spooky entertainment”.[45] In response, Cedar Fair removed “5150” from the name, and after continued opposition, permanently closed the attraction on September 28, 2016, only six days after its debut.[47][48] A petition was signed by more than 2,000 people hoping Cedar Fair would bring it back, with the petition’s organizer stating that Cedar Fair shouldn’t be “forced to shut down an attraction based on the words of people who had not even experienced the attraction”.[49]

Cedar Fair initially responded by dropping the “5150” subtitle — code for a possibly disturbed individual who could be a danger to himself or others — from the original “Fear VR: 5150” name, the Voice of OC said

The controversy was reminiscent of the brouhaha that erupted in the Bay Area in 2009 when Psycho Donuts opened in Campbell with straitjacket decor and an array of doughnuts whose names were deemed offensive by the mental health community. A truce was eventually reached, with Psycho toning down the decor and dropping the most egregious names.
