“and I googled it”

Rolled Shoulders

[Buddie]

I had seen a buddy on here mention this and I googled it and it’s exactly what has happened to me since stopping benzos. I see there are stretches and exercises to help but I wonder if it’s purely a time thing? My shoulders, neck and back hurt everyday so bad. I cope but I honestly cannot remember life without chronic pain anymore. It set in towards the last few months of tapering and has just been a part of life since. I’ve done dry needling to get the knots out but the muscles tighten back up soon after. Relaxation techniques and meditation don’t help…I just really hope it’s not a permanent thing. Any feedback would be cool.

I wonder if this is withdrawal because I’ve had all kinds of weird sensations down there since I’ve been off Xanax ct for almost 15 months already.

I see this term thrown around a lot. What exactly is it?

It’s sort of a catch-all term for belly/G.I. symptoms. It includes, bloating, reflux, nausea, weight gain, weight loss, and may also include constipation/diarrhea.

Vibrating Genitals?!?!?
« on: April 12, 2015, 11:28:49 am »

[Buddie]

I’m just gonna come out and say it! Does anyone else’s genitals vibrate, not in a good way LOL

I mean when I’m in a wave like NOW I literally vibrate all over all day and night, not shake, vibrate but even my genitals vibrate it’s the weirdest thing. If that isn’t a sign of my nervous system being messed up I don’t know what is!

Last wave lasted three weeks, God I hope this one passes quicker  :-X

Now THIS is a new one…lol….sorry to laugh at your pain, but my feet and hands are vibrating so it comes from a place of understanding….i needed that laugh though. I suppose anywhere with nerves can buzz.

When I was 9 days off benzos through a detox I could not feel my genitals. Like, it felt like they weren’t even there. No sensation whatever. You could’ve kneed me in the balls and I don’t think I would’ve felt it.

I was so terrified and went to the ER right away where, after examination, they told me everything was fine and nothing physically was wrong with me. After being terrified that this would last a long time, it went away about a week later or so.

I thought I was prepared for withdrawal, but that one took me by surprise.

With your situation, I’m like 99% sure that it’s all because of withdrawals, nothing to do with any physical abnormality. Don’t worry about it when it comes along.

Benzo Buddies scored as a Hypochondriac Heaven

Are there hypochondriacs on this forum?
« on: August 28, 2017, 12:58:21 am »

[Buddie]

Yes, stopping benzos is not easy but my experience is that it was not as bad as I was made to believe. I think some people on this forum are hypochondriacs. Do people really feel withdrawal a year later? I’m not buying it. Do you really need to taper for years? I doubt it.

Seasonal allergies affect benzo withdrawal?

Are seasonal allergies worse during withdrawal?
« on: May 24, 2017, 01:42:03 am »

[Buddie]

The past two years I’ve had what I’ve assumed were horrible seasonal allergies. It’s mainly sinus pressure and congestion. I also feel like my ears have water in them, but when I’ve had them checked the doc doesn’t see anything. I know benzo withdrawal causes a host of problems and affects the immune system. Wondering what the science involved is with the allergies being so bad. I’ve had no sinus or ear infections but sometimes the pressure between my eyes is just unbearable. Any thoughts?

Yes, mine have been worse this year since I got off benzos. I think withdrawal can ramp up any other health issues we have. I think maybe that withdrawal puts us in an inflammatory, reactive state and our bodies can over react to all kinds of things-old and new…ugh.
