Addict tries cryotherapy for benzo withdrawal symptoms after CBD oil fails

cryotherapy

[Buddie]

hi guys, currently starting up the second half of my taper again now that college is done with, i can focus more on getting through this instead of worrying about deadlines.

so i was introduced to a cryospa near my home by a friend, and initially wanted to go to check on their CBD oil they had for sale. i’ve been using CBD to help with the rebound anxiety and insomnia, though it doesn’t fix everything, it helps. i ended up trying a 3 minute cryotherapy session for free, the woman there was sweet and her daughter was actually understanding of my brain injury and also my withdrawals. i did a lot of research and looked at some good studies done on anxiety/depression and cryo, withdrawals and cryo, etc. it was a small, family owned place and thus i ended up coming back and trying it again last week, then purchasing a month pass for treatments for around 200 bucks. usually medical cryotherapy costs, bare minimum, 60 bucks per session so i think it was a good deal.

this whole week i’ve been back into my taper head on, getting horrid migraines every day, cold sweats, severe depression and ideation, that infamous klonopin chest pressure, panic attacks, awful nausea/vomiting and so on. i’ve almost felt like i had the flu and was about to pass out at points. :'( i go in for one 3 minute session as much as i can, i’ve gone about six sessions now and i can honestly say i feel like it’s easing a lot of my symptoms’ intensity. i’m kind of a wuss, and even i was able to do the sessions, it’s not really that bad compared to sitting with my withdrawals every day. i think taking a cold shower is more uncomfortable somehow. it also gets easier every time.

when i go in, i do the full body treatment up to my neck, and it helps neutralize my feverish/cold sweat episodes for the rest of the day, makes me feel less tired, sometimes even less nauseated. with my brain injury, i’m on bedrest anyways, so i need the good circulation i get from cold shock. it helps the achy feeling in my body, and REALLY helps my back pain. i feel like i can finally sleep after i go, because my muscles just relax and my swelling and pain goes down throughout everywhere. it’s a little early to tell but i think it’s even helping clear my brain fog and dp/dr a bit, i feel ‘clearer’ for an hour or so. i get an endorphin rush afterwards, as well as norepinephrine, which i’m sure helps in other aspects, and in general it just makes me feel relaxed and not so wound up and sick.

i haven’t seen a lot of people talk about this kind of therapy for withdrawals but i’ve been told it can help with them and personally, i look forward to going in every chance i get when i feel absolutely horrible. i always feel somewhat better if not a lot better after. if you can find a local place, it can be pretty affordable compared to other medical therapies and i would recommend it (which i don’t say much, i’m a huge skeptic on this stuff). i will post another thread if i see any major new improvements after my 15th session (which is when the promising study done on anxiety and depression ends).

thanks and my thoughts are will all you guys 🙂

« on: May 07, 2019, 09:24:26 pm »

The lower I get on klonopin the EMFS get worse
I live in the dark
Anything with voltage
Are my voltage gated calcium channels open?
I do have mold toxicity and that’s the reason for EMFS BUT they’re still getting worse coming off klonopin
I can’t live at all
I read about it but still not taking it all in
Do these VGCC close eventually ?
Thanks

I know someone who was on Ativan… got off slowly. She has the EMF thing. First it was screens, phone, computer, now apparently anything that plugs in!
What effects do they have on you?

There is some place in W.Virginia, I think, a place free from EMFs…

Benzo Buddies: Veggie shakes cure benzo withdrawal

veggie shake

[Buddie]

Please help me design a shake that will help my extreme benzo withdrawal. I’m having trouble getting solid food down. High carb stuff makes my condition worse. I desperately need something to decrease the electricity in my brain. I threw some broccoli and celery and spinach in the blender this morning but couldnt hold it down. Disgusting. So i added some banana. But its got alot of sugar since its a carb. Also idk if i should add a few blueberries. Any suggestions? I cant tolerate cbd oil. And I’m not touching anticonvulsants with 10 foot pole. Let food be the medicine. There’s gotta be something that’ll help me.

Kooks at Benzo Buddies give decaf coffee and cocoa big thumbs down

Decaf Coffee or Cocoa OK During Withdrawal?
« on: January 18, 2019, 07:40:09 pm »

I understand caffeine affects Gaba receptors, so I quit drinking regular coffee. But I DO have a decaf I make myself (3 mgs) and a homemade cocoa (ditto, as I read cocoa from Starbucks, etc, was much higher.) I seem to be recovering quite well mentally, but still have oodles of physical pain caused by the benzo’s. Should I quit even decaf? (I love it – makes my day start beautifully!)

cocoa has caffeine in it. I cannot take it while on taper, makes me hyper.

Hi Benzo P!
There are two problems drinking coffee and cocoa. Coffee has caffeine and even the decaf has at least 14% in it. Cocoa also has caffeine and sugar. Both are excitatory substances 😀 . If you are tapering you probably want to stay away from it or at least take the decaf only in the morning. I replaced coffee with Roma Kaffree. It’s a plant base and really taste like coffee. If you put milk you won’t notice a big difference. Yes, it’s hard to quit things that you enjoy…

Dear All,

Finally I decided to write my introduction.

I did a cold turkey on June 21st 2018. I vividly remember that day.
Since then I’ve never touched benzos and throw away everything.

The reason for me going CT (which I absolutely discourage) is because, before quitting, I didn’t know what was making me feel the way I felt. Dr/dp, Insomnia, anxiety, almost run into panic attacks, chest pain, fatigue, headache, brain fog, depression, lethargy, and many more..
As soon as I realized that it was because of the benzo I was taking, I quit immediately.

Little did I know, that you should taper.

The benzo I was taking is called Lormatazepam (Minias – Italian brand). I was taking 7 drops (ca. 0.85mg) intermittently. I started to take them once a week, or once every 2 weeks – when I really couldn’t sleep. After 5 months at this pace, I started taking them almost all nights. In what were not even 2 weeks, I reached tolerance.

The 21st of October it will be exactly 4 months that I am benzo free. Even though I am not having all the symptoms that I was having the first 2 months, the struggle is still a lot.
I fell in severe depression, and my headache doesn’t want to leave me! Not even for a second. I still had dr/dp episodes, but not so strong as the first month. Sleep is coming and going in waves. I can see the improvements, but it feels like the road is still sooo long.

Wish me good luck!
Thanks for reading!

Benzo Buddies cult members argue over whether or not to get a flu shot

Flu Shot
« on: September 25, 2018, 04:51:08 am »

[Buddie]

Do any of you get the seasonal flu shot? If so does it cause you any problems?

My body is so weak and battered, it feels as if flu would end me right now, so maybe getting the shot will help prevent me getting really sick this winter, from one flu strain anyway. The shot only protects you against one strain of the virus, and if the virus decides to mutate half way through the flu season, the vaccine is rendered useless. Is it worth the bother and potential risk of an uptick?.

Thanks.

I get them. Totally worth it.

I have gotten a flu shot for years with no negative side effects. I think it worth whatever risk there might be.

NO never! I hate any vaccines but the flu shot has mercury in it. It doesn’t prevent the flu only helps the intensity. And 1/2 the time it’s not effective towards the strain going around that year. I have influenza A in January fresh off Benzos and I was fine. Just eat well, and take care of your body.
