How Long can the Benzo Flu Last? Years?
« on: April 13, 2019, 02:56:16 pm »

[Buddie]

Hi everyone. I jumped two months ago from diazepam after a long withdrawal taper while in tolerance. I have had every symptom possible. The two symptoms that have never let up while in tolerance or through the taper and after jumping are benzo-flu symptoms and muscle pain throughout my abdominal region which an ultrasound showed nothing.

I’ve been mostly house bound for 3 years fighting this. The benzo-flu use to be 3-4 days a week but since jumping it is 24/7 with no breaks. Nothing helps this and my head feels like it will explode. Just achy, hot, nauseous and anxious. I just want to know that there is an end to this and that I am not the only one.

Has anyone else struggled this long with benzo-flu symptoms? I haven’t read of anyone having it like this. It seems they may have it for a few days one month here and there. This is constant for me. Anyone?

[…], so sorry for you too. How long has this been going on for you? It is really taking a toll on me.

NO your not the only one. I had it on and off during all of my long taper, just continually getting worse and more frequent
until it was 24/7 at about 3 months after jumping. It’s very discouraging & scary when it just keeps getting worse even after stopping the drug.
But after 3 months it reversed and very gradually started getting better until that particular group of symptoms is all but gone now.
My mind is just completely boggled at what I’ve been through and how sick I’ve been the past couple years.
So hopefully yours will start getting better now real soon. At 2 months your very early.

[…], thank you so much for replying and I hate that you went through that. I am just crying now out of some relief. I really was thinking that I was alone. Like you, it was bad before but since jumping it never lets up. I’ve suffered through this for 3 years. It is unbelievable the torture. I hope your health just continually gets better by leaps and bounds.

All comments welcome on this monster most of us know as benso belly. Will it ever leave? Bloating, burning, gas, nausea and pain. What did I forget? Two months to go on this taper if all goes well. Will this monster leave or what?

My experience. I CT’d and months later I was great for about 4 months then BAM, stomach pain, bad. Personally I think this time Im going to do a ton of probiotics, stay away from other drugs, less stress and more interaction with people and better non GMO diet. I did suffer from upper GI years before and I am a light smoker so that may have been my issue too. When I had this after the Benzos nothing seemed to help except,…benzos. Good for about 6 months after I reinstated. I was that bad that I did it again like an idiot but I had no insurance and was doubled over ALL day pacing back and forth by myself for weeks. Another hell. Tests showed nothing and I could not afford a scope. Best of luck to you and I hope you find better answers than from me.

I had seen a buddy on here mention this and I googled it and it’s exactly what has happened to me since stopping benzos. I see there are stretches and exercises to help but I wonder if it’s purely a time thing? My shoulders, neck and back hurt everyday so bad. I cope but I honestly cannot remember life without chronic pain anymore. It set in towards the last few months of tapering and has just been a part of life since. I’ve done dry needling to get the knots out but the muscles tighten back up soon after. Relaxation techniques and meditation don’t help…I just really hope it’s not a permanent thing. Any feedback would be cool.

I wonder if this is withdrawal because I’ve had all kinds of weird sensations down there since I’ve been off Xanax ct for almost 15 months already.

I see this term thrown around a lot. What exactly is it?

It’s sort of a catch-all term for belly/G.I. symptoms. It includes, bloating, reflux, nausea, weight gain, weight loss, and may also include constipation/diarrhea.

Vibrating Genitals?!?!?
« on: April 12, 2015, 11:28:49 am »

[Buddie]

I’m just gonna come out and say it! Does anyone else’s genitals vibrate, not in a good way LOL

I mean when I’m in a wave like NOW I literally vibrate all over all day and night, not shake, vibrate but even my genitals vibrate it’s the weirdest thing. If that isn’t a sign of my nervous system being messed up I don’t know what is!

Last wave lasted three weeks, God I hope this one passes quicker  :-X

When I was 9 days off benzos through a detox I could not feel my genitals. Like, it felt like they weren’t even there. No sensation whatever. You could’ve kneed me in the balls and I don’t think I would’ve felt it.

I was so terrified and went to the ER right away where, after examination, they told me everything was fine and nothing physically was wrong with me. After being terrified that this would last a long time, it went away about a week later or so.

I thought I was prepared for withdrawal, but that one took me by surprise.

With your situation, I’m like 99% sure that it’s all because of withdrawals, nothing to do with any physical abnormality. Don’t worry about it when it comes along.
